Shane Wagner will be presenting “The History of Familiar Hymns” at the church beside the library, Chester’s First Baptist Church. The performance will be May 6, at 6:30 PM.

The program will include nine popular Christian hymns performed by Shaun, during which he will share a brief history of each before performing them. The sacred anthems and hymns where composed from 1528 until 1933, and their stories come from places as varied as Wittenberg Germany, the battlefields of the Civil War, and an Al Capone Speakeasy in Chicago.

We’ll also be serving refreshments in our fellowship hall after the service.
